April Lockhart
April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began the guitar and piano lessons in 7th grade which sparked curiosity. When she was in seventh grade she began to take piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her interest to write songs. At the age of 14 April spent a lot of her time singing and writing songs. Over the next few months, she started taking writing excursions along with her father on trips to LA and NY. April also added additional themes to the track "Take My Hand" for a few of her the friends she had who struggled with concerns like peer pressure disabilities, and even teenage suicide. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle blogger and being a partner with clean beauty brands Ilia and YSL, has cultivated a large following. As a woman born with no left hand, she has a significant part to play in her. But it's not her entire story. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore her handicap. It also doesn't make it a point to emphasize it. What's the message? It is important to remember that we all have many faces, our identities are diverse and we're more than our bodies. Lockhart has stated on video that she does not want to be defined by her handicap. She doesn't want to be a disability advocate who only speaks about it. There are a lot of aspects to Lockhart. My everyday life isn't dependent on it. I live my normal daily life, and come up with my own solutions to problems. It's also part of me, so I believe it's important to talk about. Lockhart who is an inspiration for self-acceptance in general she is on a long journey to achieve this. She admits that she has gone through phases where she was uncomfortable the way she dressed and showed her arms. Now she wears whatever outfit she wants and posts pictures on Facebook in awe. The journey itself is what I'm not certain that will ever be the end about self-love. This is true for everyone, regardless of how much they are afraid. It's important to have people that know and understand your situation. They will be the ones to ask your: What are you think about?
