Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 in 1967. Her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer was the first Roberts to settle in Atlanta. Her father was interested in theatre since a young time. When he was a college student studying at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he participated in several performances. When he joined in 1953 the Air force and was spotted with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. They got married in 2005, and they had their first baby, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter was a student at Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after leaving the Airforce in the year 1957. Walter worked for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the couple relocated in Decatur Georgia. Walter and Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the local Saturday morning children's television program Bum Bum and His Buddies, which they funded themselves. They also founded a six-year Actors and Writers Workshop later the same year. They welcomed in 1965 two new children: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
